I have paid $60 for the current month. I downgrade to the $20 level for the next month starting in 10 days. And now suddenly all the rest of my credits for this month are gone. What gives? Please correct.
You will be credited a pro-rated amount for when you downgraded in your next invoice! If you donât see this, please reach out at hi@cursor.com.
Thanks for clarifying that. I assumed it would work the way most subscription services work, where the subscription changes at the monthly date. I suggest that you clarify that in the user interface, as I would have made a different decision.
I donât like the fact that cranking my subscription level up due to high use has a ratchet effect on the monthly fee.
Hi @rishabhy ,
Iâve been wondering what happens when:
-
A Pro user uses up their 500 fast requests
-
They go to cursor.com/settings
-
They add 500 fast requests per month
It seems that:
-
The increase in quota happens immediately and the additional amount is charged
-
The increased quota and cost will persist the following month
It seems people get tripped up when:
- They subsequently lower the quota (so they are not charged the higher amount the following month) and the lower quota is immediately applied, rather than the quota returning to the lower quota at the next billing date?
Personally, I would expect to have the additionally purchased quota available immediately (because I had run out), but if I subsequently lowered the quota (so I could return to the lower quota the following month), I would expect the already purchased additional quota to persist, at least until the end of the current subscription period.
Maybe it would be helpful if there was the option to purchase âbanked fast requestsâ which could be used when Pro plan quota usage for the month had been exceeded (and which persisted across billing periods).
So the scenario would be:
- Billing period commences
- Day 20: âOh no, Iâve run out of fast requestsâ
- Add some fast requests to the bank ($20)
- Spend $5 of the banked requests
- Billing period ends
- Next billing period commences
- (still have $15 in the bank)
Another idea, in addition to the above, would be to have a rolling quota, so if you didnât use your monthly quota, the unused quota rolled over to the next period.
I understand all these decisions effect revenue etc, and may not be feasible, but just plotting out some possible logic in case it helps/saves some thinking time .
I also donât understand what this means:
You will be credited a pro-rated amount for when you downgraded in your next invoice
