Even after installing Cursor, Composer does not appear.

The version of Cursor is as follows.

Please tell me how to solve this problem.

① Composer does not appear even with “⌘+k” or “⌘+i”.

② I do not use VPN or proxy.

③ I deleted the Cursor app,
and deleted and reinstalled all the following, but the problem is not solved.

rm -rf /Applications/Cursor.app
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.cursor.plist
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.cursor
rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/Cursor

Hi, there is no composer since cursor 0.46.x as described on https://www.cursor.com/changelog:

Agent is ready: Agent is now the default mode, bringing a more powerful and unified AI experience. No more confusion between Chat, Composer, and Agent - just one smart interface that adapts to your needs.

That kind of confused me as well since I was watching some YouTube videos on using Cursor. Honestly, the previous iteration with the tabs looked nicer even though it took up some screen-space. However:

At the bottom of the chat box where you type, you can click on the “Agent” mini-button and change it to Agent (previously named Composer), Ask (previously named as Chat), or Edit (which I have no idea what this does? Why not just use the Agent?)

Also, while not a part of your question, you can also enable the “thinking” part of various models (if applicable) by clicking on the currently selected model button and toggling the Thinking section. Doing this uses 2 requests instead of a single test though, so it can eat into your monthly limits.

Does this mean that chat and composer are one in 0.4.6x and later?

You can select Agent/Ask/Edit in the small drop down (bottom left). I think Agent replaced Composer and Ask replaced Chat

Does that mean the Agent in the Chat dropdown is acting as the composer?

It is acting similar but I think it is a bit more “agentic”. It is the one you will use when building stuff.

Thanks!

Since 0.4.6x and later there is no composer and you have to use the Agent, does that mean you have to downgrade to use composer?

Hey, the ‘Edit’ mode in the Chat is the same as the previously named ‘Composer’, but we’d recommend the Agent as our most powerful mode available, if you haven’t tried it already!

You can learn more about the modes in Chat here:

Unfortunately AGENT mode doesn’t work at all..

Hmm, what do you see there? If you are in a corporate network, you can try disabling HTTP/2:

Dan, can you please take a look at my post?

Seeing it i the Out → Cursor Tab. http/2 is already disabled.

And Agent is stuck on Generating with no output ..and will eventually timed out..
