Github Copilot Workspace Extension is not working

I recently got an access to the new feature of “Copilot Workspace” from Github. It is still in preview and I signed up to the waitlist a long time ago back when it was announced.

It has a VS Code extension to be able to work locally, but when I try to install it in Cursor I get the message " Can’t install ‘github.copilot-workspace’ extension because it is not compatible with the current version of Cursor (version 0.42.4, VSCode version 1.93.1). "

My current Cursor Version:
Version: 0.42.4
VSCode Version: 1.93.1
Commit: b1e87884330fc271d5eb589e368c35f14e76dec0
Date: 2024-10-29T17:17:29.347Z
Electron: 30.4.0
Chromium: 124.0.6367.243
Node.js: 20.15.1
V8: 12.4.254.20-electron.0
OS: Darwin arm64 24.2.0

I tried it in VS Code and it works fine since Version: 1.94.2.

Any idea when we will get that 0.0.1 VS Code version update in Cursor?

While I also have access to GitHub’s preview features, I use VSCode when testing those features. Since Cursor is a fork of VSCode, it takes considerable time and effort for them to implement their own unique features. I don’t want Cursor team to spend extra energy on updating their VSCode fork base - I’d rather see them focus on developing their own unique features.
