I’d like to know how long GPT-5 will be available for free. I noticed that the cost per 1M input and output tokens is similar to o3, so I was wondering — what if you made it free for Pro users as well, perhaps with a slightly slower queue like o3?

Yes it is free through 13th August until midnight.
OpenAI will announce all pricing at their API page. Our prices are their list prices * 1.2.

-high is a high reasoning model, uses more thinking tokens.
-fast is a priority queue and costs therefore more.
As the cost depends on your context and token usage we can not predict how much it will cost for you upfront. Note that we do not count requests but token usage.
Example for GPT-5, simplified:
You can see in Dashboard > Usage also the total cost of your requests during this GPT-5 testing period. (It will not count as usage from your plan)
As it is shown there you can monitor it already.

I received the email stating that GPT-5 is free to use in Cursor until Wednesday, August 13 at midnight PT.
Does this mean that the free usage will end on Thursday, August 14 at 09:00 in the morning Croatian time (CEST)?

I am currently using Cursor v1.4.5 (user setup, Windows 10, VSCode 1.99.3) and I noticed that the Chat: Focus on Chat View command does not work on my side.
