@Colin same is happening for me today (Sept 3) w/ version 0.36.0 on M4 Mac running 26.6.2. I have restarted Grok, and it still doesn’t work.

Grok Bot 0.36.0 Windows — first-time setup fails with “Can’t reach your computer”

Grok Bot has never completed initial Agent Computer setup.

It repeatedly displays:
“Grok Bot couldn’t finish setting up — Can’t reach your computer right now.”

Environment:

  • Windows 11
  • Grok Bot 0.36.0

Troubleshooting already completed:

  • Retry repeatedly
  • Fully terminated Grok Bot processes and restarted
  • Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Grok Bot
  • DNS test succeeds:
    test123.us8.cursorvm.com resolves successfully
  • TCP connectivity succeeds:
TcpTestSucceeded : True on port 443

Reinstalling gives exactly the same error.

Same issue here on a fresh install this morning. I suspect this may be related to the ongoing service degradation reported ~2hrs ago.

Hey @ewokock @mvb @hwaynefair @cb1337

A change that started rolling out to the hosted computers this afternoon is causing them to be refused by our backend. We’re fixing this right now. Sorry that you ran into it!

This should be recovered now. Please restart Grok Bot and let us know if you’re still facing an issue.

Confirmed - I can open Grok bot now. Thank you!
