I’m hitting this same issue and can add a data point.
Account email: [your Cursor account email]
Platform: macOS on Apple Silicon (M4)
Grok Bot version: 0.24.0 (auto-updated from 0.18.0 the morning of Aug 21)
Timezone: [your timezone]
Symptom: First-time setup fails every attempt with the exact error
“Bot couldn’t finish setting up — Can’t reach your computer right now.
Check your connection and try again.” The agent computer has never
finished provisioning, and Settings → Beta shows no recovery options
(nothing to recover — the computer was never created).
Evidence it’s not local (checked Aug 20–21):
The assigned pod (-pod--1340.us10.cursorvm.com) returned 503 with a
valid x-anyrun-network-token header on Aug 20, and the local
sand-local-exec-daemon respawned in a loop (135+ starts that day).
No VPN interference: no Tailscale exit node, traffic egresses direct
over Wi-Fi (en0), and the cursorvm edge answers probes in ~0.2s.
Grok Bot makes only outbound connections; no firewall involvement.
Clean reinstall/update to 0.24.0 changed nothing, consistent with
staff’s note that this is server-side.
Latest failure: Aug 21, morning–midday (local time).
