Describe the request

Product/service: Grok Bot (desktop app)

Grok Bot’s product chrome is English-only. Chat replies can already be in Chinese, but the app UI cannot.

What I see today:

  • Settings tabs are General / Plugins / Team Setup / Appearance / Updates. Appearance only has Theme (System / Light / Dark). There is no language setting.
  • Sidebar, Settings, plugin/connect cards, routines, and other chrome stay English even when the conversation is fully in Chinese.

This is a separate product from Cursor IDE. These existing threads cover the editor, not Grok Bot (topic ids, since new users cannot post many links):

Please add:

  1. A language setting in Grok Bot (or follow the OS locale).
  2. Native Simplified Chinese for the full Grok Bot UI: sidebar, Settings, plugins, routines, connect cards, empty states, and system chrome.
  3. A real i18n setup so more languages can follow, not a Chinese-only one-off.

Related localization gap: Grok Bot voice currently transcribes non-English speech as English (topic 168063, “Grok Bot voice dictation in Portuguese arrives as English text”). Same missing language layer.

I am posting this so Grok Bot i18n is tracked as its own request, not folded into the Cursor IDE Agents Window thread.

Same missing language layer here, from Italian. No language setting in Grok Bot, and typed Italian still reads like English then translated. We posted the longer report under Dean Rie on the Portuguese voice thread: [Grok Bot] Voice dictation in Portuguese arrives as English text

A picker would help. Even without one, the bot should follow the thread language as we go. Tracking this together with the STT path would help more of us actually work in a language that is not English.
