A slight improvement on Model List: Group them by their providers; Anthropic, Google, Xai, OpenAI, etc. Adding this and also release date within their provider group would help organize this list.
Thanks!

i suggested this multiple times in the past, hope it finally makes it into production..
And all the missing tooltips.
Upvoted, and preferrably alphabetically sorted, not random.
Tool tips would be a great addition
UX improvement request: add the [brain] icon after the model name, improves readability of aligned text.
Made same suggestion, with pic when it was good
Thanks for adding it here, great suggestion.
Yes! I’d like to group by model families. For example, Gemini → latest available gemini version. Same for Grok, Sonnet or Opus…
Cursor IDE
I’ve noticed that the AI model selection section in Cursor feels a bit messy and hard to navigate.
Some ideas to make it clearer and more user-friendly:
Sorting – for example, alphabetically or following a consistent order.
Grouping by provider – OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, etc., each with their models underneath.
Grouping by model family – e.g., having “GPT-5” as a main entry and then its variants (low, high, fast…) as sub-options, instead of listing them separately.
