Harder to use Ask or Manual modes

I have been loving cursor for the last 9 months, but recently the shift to emphasizing agent mode has actually made me use it less. For my workflows 90% of the time I prefer to have more control of what Cursor does and what context it uses. This lends itself better to Manual or Ask modes. However, on a recent fresh Windows installation, all shortcuts (e.g. ctrl+l instead of ctrl+i) default to opening the cursor chat in Agent mode. In addition, the previous distinction between ctrl+shift+l and ctrl+l seems to have been removed and now both send the selection to current chat instead of a new chat. Bottom line is in order to use cursor the way I was using it in previous versions now requires a lot more clicks (change to preferred mode, manually click on new chat). I know I can set my own hot keys etc, so this is partly a skill issue. Still, I found myself opening claude or chatgpt directly much more often and thought I should share here.
