I see popular posts hating the update. I mean I kinda understand, this is the buggiest version of cursor that I’ve ever tried.
To name a few that I’ve seen:
-
Cannot type @ because using non english layout
-
Explorer turns orangeish when creating a new file. hilarious.
-
150ms avg of latency to switch to agents mode
-
toggle terminal needs 2 triggers on agents mode in order to be triggered
-
accidentally pressint cmd + w on agent window without windows exits cursor
-
browser tab inside cursor steals focus, so if you navigate to it via keyboard you cannot go back without using the mouse, bc shortcuts trigger on the browser window.
-
I have no idea how secure the inapp browser is, but I hope it is well sandboxed. I don’t want a malicious extension update to use browser cookies somehow.
But this is also the update I’ve been the most productive. Having agents mode more separate from the editor env makes it less cluttered. Otherwise you have agents, terminal, explorer and editor with 2 splits, plus all other vscode ■■■■.
So idk, please fix the bugs (specially the @ one, it’s infuriating), but I like the update so far. Maybe I’d also like to know how much though has been put on the browser security.
obsidian has a full section to this, I hope cursor does too: Web viewer - Obsidian Help
