Let us summarize the current chat at wish

Situation:

  • You’ve been engaging in a conversation with the Agent, you’ve done about 40 / 50 tool calls (restarted once at the 25 use mark and Agent finished)
  • You already know the context is soon going to reach its limit, the “Start a new chat” doesn’t appear.

You’re now at a decision point, either start a new chat and type all the context it learned about your codebase during its different interactions manually or risk hitting context limit and have degraded performance and a request potentially useless due to performance reasons.

In this case, being able to summarize your chat at will would be a nice addition

Hey, you can already @ an old chat to inject a summary into your new chat, which should get your new chats off and running much quicker than starting fresh!

Cursor does currently automatically summarise your chat when it gets too long, but this is seperate from the feature above!

Wow! This is exactly what I need. Thanks
