Describe the Bug

The problem is that only a few models are available to me, as shown in the screenshot. Models like Claude and GPT are missing and cannot be found in the search. I have already verified my VPN and network settings (see the attached image). Could you please let me know what the cause might be?

Steps to Reproduce

Whenever I access the models within the settings, this problem occurs, preventing me from using models such as Claude and GPT.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, this isn’t a bug. It’s due to regional restrictions.

Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), and Google (Gemini) block API access from some regions, so those models don’t show up in Cursor settings. This limit is set by the model providers, not Cursor.

What you can do:

  1. Use Auto mode: it will automatically pick the best model available in your region.
  2. Use available models directly: Composer, Grok, DeepSeek, and similar models work fine.
  3. Use your own API key: in Cursor go to Settings > Models and add your provider key. Note: the provider can still block your region even if you use your own key.
