New Pro Plan — Need More Transparency on Rate Limits

This really appears as total disaster. I turned off new features but my requests are slow as duck. And I dont see any rate limiting so I assume those are my still fast requsts which just fail or take forever to complete. Cursor becomes unusuable. I dont need unlimited “fast” requests that are actually slow. I need my 500 normal fast requests and I’m happy to pay for extra paid $10-20 per month like I was typically doing. But now it just becomes unusable with all requests turning to slow ones.

Last time, one of the moderators told me that if you are not happy with the service, if you do not like it, cancel your subscription. We, the users, are that worthless to them. Instead of improving the service, we may encounter more of the sentence “cancel your subscription if you are not happy.”

This doesn’t break consumer privacy law. Your data is no more or less secure than it was before.

As a business owner myself, the 20 dollar a month plan is a steal for the value. The 200 dollar a month plan is also a steal for the value. If you cannot justify the value of it, you are likely not using the software for anything worthwhile to begin with as it is an extreme time save compared to not using it. I am on ultra using it 8-10 hours a day and have not gotten rate limited once using sonnet 4 thinking. On usage based, this would cost me 80-100 dollars a day.

Are there any solutions to this? I still got rate limited, it keeps asking me to upgrade to Ultra plan! I contacted [email protected] but no responses

and same now i cant use it, i just ask a few 5 or 10 claude 4 sonnet no thinking and now i cant use it im rate limited

@everyone create a new post with this new rate limited problem so they will force to do smth, we cant use more than 10 request wth

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your perspective makes sense, and I agree that their approach seems to involve using Claude Pro or Claude Max as a proxy to profit from the price difference. However, they appear to be masking the “Claude usage limit reached” notification and not disclosing the reset details, which lacks transparency. Without public information to clarify their process, it’s reasonable to question their practices.

Not only on rate limits. More transparency, like stop shadow banning legitimate questions and feedback on forum and reddit, would also be welcome.

I think the absolute minimum is showing users if “local” quota was reached (the one which refills faster but holds less; “daily limit”) or is about to be. So you could always know if you are using slow-refilling burst “uses”. Even this small change, I think, would do a massive difference.

Great, you’re on Ultra, good for you. A lot of people here are either hobbyists and don’t have 200$ to burn.

Let me be blunt, nobody cares that you’re a business owner and what you perceive to be value. The value of the product here is not in question; the transparency about how our usage is determined is. Nobody is asking for more compute, nor more requests. Merely asking at our own individual level where we rank in terms of limiting potential.

I am a Pro subscriber and have only used 7 requests :melting_face:, but I’m receiving a message that my usage limit has been reached. Could you please investigate this issue and clarify the situation?

This is very bad and unusable. Asking 60$ on top of it for Pro+.

Gemini PRO is also limited once you hit the rate limit. It use to be a good backup.
o3 hit the limit as well.

It sounds like Claude code for 100$ is the better approach.
