Nice little fraud scheme you got, model stops making changes and claims to have made them repeatedly

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I’m paying for premium model requests, at least 10 prompts to make a change gpt-5-high makes the false claim that a change was made and the addressed issue is fixed and no changes are made. What kind of a business are you running here?

Steps to Reproduce

Use Cursor IDE, experience issues, pay for repeatedly failed prompts

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. Could you let me know if this also happens in a new chat? Are you in Agent mode? It would also be helpful if you could share the request ID. To do that, please disable Privacy Mode. Also, try updating to the latest version, 1.6.26.

Agent mode, we have a massive framework, so yes, we have to give the agent contextual information about the system and build its knowledge over time. My issue isn’t with eventual artifacts and hallucinations which are expected after numerous prompts happen within the same session. My issue is that models and cursor continues to charge for a variety of situations where nothing is produced and/or the model produces “plausible” BS.
