On Mobile(Android) Voice Settings in Conversation Mode Always Revert Back to Default

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Grok Bot

Describe the Bug

Everything time I use Conversation Mode with my chief bot in my Grok Bot fleet, I always have to change the voice settings for every instance.
By default, it’s ‘Liora’ for Voice and Speed is 1x.
I change the voice to ‘Rex’ at 1.25x speed. But in every instance when I use Conversation Mode, it switches back to ‘Liora’ voice.
After having changed the settings for a particular bot, the changes should save and not revert back to default.

Steps to Reproduce

Every time you open the app and choice Conversation Mode to talk to your bot, you’ll notice the voice settings never save and are back to default.

Expected Behavior

The voice settings should be set once and kept.
If I’m setting the Voice to ‘Rex’, it should be ‘Rex’ the next time I use it.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @pyroscopic24, thanks for the report!

This is a known issue with how the phone app saved voices for bots, and it’s fixed in the newest Grok Bot app version (1.13.0), which is rolling out on Google Play now. You’re currently on 1.12.0, which still has the old behavior.

Once the update reaches you:

  1. Update Grok Bot from the Google Play Store and reopen the app.
  2. Open your chief bot and start Conversation Mode.
  3. Open the voice settings in the call and pick Rex at 1.25x.
  4. End the call.
  5. Start Conversation Mode again with the same bot.

It should now open on Rex at 1.25x. You only need to set it once after updating. If it still goes back to Liora, reply here with the app version shown in the Play Store and roughly when the call was, and we’ll dig in.
