There’s another thread where users have faced this issue. Some users found that running with --disable-gpu once unblocked them going forwards. Could you give that a try?
I solved the problem by deleting the files in \Roaming\Cursor and then restoring the entire folder from the Recycle Bin, followed by a reinstallation. Is this the correct solution? Did it actually fix the problem completely?
I’ve found the problem. If I open the agent chat as an editor, the IDE cursor freezes. Then, if I close and reopen the IDE, this problem reappears. What’s going on? You need to fix this!
The current chat function with the cursor has many problems. I think it’s because I have two screens – my laptop is connected to an external monitor. When I try to open the previous chat as an editor, it gets stuck in the “opening” state and won’t open the editor. This leads to a series of problems. If I only use one screen, the chat-to-editor function works fine.
I had this issue. What I did was delete the workspace storage inside the .cursor folder on C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Cursor\User, and it worked.
Same issue. Tried to reinstall, then reinstalled an older version, no luck. Thank you for sharing this – checked the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Cursor\User folder and saw some files labelled corrupted. Deleted the files, still no luck, deleted the folder and restarted, lost my chat history but at least I have it working again. I personally did not restore the folder from the recycle bin.
This bug occurred for me after I clicked “Open Chat as Editor” in the Chat window options. Clicking that showed me the blank window others are reporting, and I’ve had the same issue every time I open Cursor since. I have tried reinstalling both current and previous versions, and all the workarounds I have seen on the forums. Nothing has worked.
However, I was able to open a different project/folder by searching Cursor in the start menu and selecting the folder there (not the one I was originally working in when the bug occurred). So at least in my case, this has something to do with the folder that was open in Cursor at the time. I haven’t yet found a way to get that folder to open in Cursor.
