Opt out of third-party models for more Composer and Grok

Feature request for product/service

AI Models

Describe the request

I’d like a way to opt out of the third-party API models and have that usage redirected to more subsidised usage for the in-house models instead - Composer and Grok.
Grok 4.6 already works well for the work I do in Cursor, and I’d rather have more of that than a set of models I barely use. A simple per-cycle toggle to turn third-party models off and put that capacity toward Composer and Grok would be enough.

Hey, thanks for the feature request. The logic makes sense, focusing included usage on the models you actually use.

You can already do something similar today: in Settings → Models you can hide the models you don’t need, so only Composer and Grok stay in the picker. But right now this only changes the model list in the UI and doesn’t change how included usage is allocated, so the exact toggle you described like turning off 3P to get more 1P usage isn’t available yet.

I’ll pass your request to the team as feedback. I can’t promise details or a timeline, but the idea is noted. If anything ships here, the best place to watch is the changelog: What's New in Cursor — Latest Updates & Release Notes
