I am currently using the latest version 0.48, and the reported issue persists. Additionally, there are recurring ‘Error calling tool’ problems. My code is over 1000 lines long, and I’ve tried making modular modifications to it, but the error still occurs. Notably, this tool calling failure does not appear in shorter code snippets. Moreover, the programming capabilities of 3.7 are inferior to those of 3.5.
Yes, recently Cursor has been rolling out minor feature updates that feel trivial rather than focusing on user experience improvements. Compared to these new additions, I’d much prefer seeing the model’s capabilities return to their previous state. The current Claude 3.7 even underperforms compared to 3.5 in some aspects—perhaps the Max version is where Claude truly shines.
I’m still having a ton of issues with the latest Cursor version. Here’s what’s happening:
Even when I @ a file, Cursor just won’t index it properly. Instead of working with the file I referenced, it tries to create a new one. Two things usually happen:
It completely ignores the file I @ and acts like it doesn’t exist.
It “finds” the file but doesn’t edit it—instead, it duplicates it somewhere random (like the project root folder), which messes up the whole structure.
No matter how clearly I reference the file, Cursor keeps botching it!
