Ping noise is driving me crazy

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

There is a new constant ping every 10 seconds while im using cursor and im losing my mind.

Steps to Reproduce

Use cursor, use chat, do things

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

latest version of cursor

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Could you specify what actions or events trigger this ping noise? Perhaps it happens after the agent’s response? If so, you might have the agent completion sound enabled.

It seems it now pings every time it finishes editing a FILE for some reason, rather than the old behaviour of pinging a single time once the AI has finished it’s ‘turn’ in the conversation.

Not entirely sure if there IS a use case for this or if it’s just a bug…

Yes I do not (and have never had) that sound on. This truly started happening randomly, not even after an update. Just after hours of normal coding and agent use - random noises started occurring on every file change. I had to mute Cursor.

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I have turned completion sound off. Sometimes when using cursor it will just randomly start doing completion sounds again. The only way to stop it is to restart cursor. But it keeps doing it. Drivin me nuts. New since the last update, or so:

Steps to Reproduce

Happens randomly when using cursor when chatting.

I had this issue too so I dug in on the issue. Seems like it has to do with Accessibility signals the one that resolved the constant “dun nun” sound was the Line Has Error. I also disabled a handful of others as well. Searching sound in settings reveals them.
