Plans always report as built

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I enter plan mode, compose a plan, action it. Later in the same tab I go back into plan mode and request a new plan. It always shows as built with the yellow build check mark. There is no way to build it. I have to ask in words.

Previously it was possible to build a plan, then make a new plan in the same context.

Steps to Reproduce

Open agent tab. Enter plan mode. Plan. Execute. In same tab reenter plan, make a new plan. Cannot execute, plan is already executed.

Expected Behavior

Should be able to make plans in the same context

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Sonnet 4.5. Opus 4.5

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report.

There’s a recent stability fix for plans in 2.1.49 for Windows cases: 2.1.47 plans are always innaccessible and unreachable and cannot build. On your macOS case the behavior is different, so let’s gather details.

Please check:

  • Whether it reproduces in a new Agent tab or a new chat
  • Restart Cursor and retry in the same project
  • Save the plan with “Save to workspace” and open the file from .cursor/plans, see if you can click Build from the file
  • Logs: Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console, reproduce and send all errors
  • If clicking Build triggers a model call, share the Request ID from the chat context menu

This will help us reproduce and fix it quickly. If it consistently reproduces on 2.1.50, I’ll pass it to the team.
