Describe the Bug

Not writing the whole thing out again: Bug / UX Report: “Pending Changes” Bar Moved to an Awkward Top-Right Position

This started happening again today, same as last time. Please stop with the UI changes. Give us settings and options for the new stuff if you have to (as was suggested in the previous bug thread) but stop force-changing things. People use this for work, last thing we need is to fight an ever-changing UI all the time.

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known regression. The review controls moved back to the Island position because of a recent change.

Good news, the fix should land in one of the next stable releases. We also added a setting at Settings > Layout > Review Control Location, where you can choose between Breadcrumb, the old style at the bottom near the code, and Island, at the top right. That is exactly what you asked for in the original thread, it is now configurable.

Let me know if the issue still happens after you update.

Hello,

Thank you for the swift reply. Good to hear there is a setting but I’m afraid I can’t find it on my version (version above in the bug report).

Where exactly is the setting and am i on the correct version? Cursor right now says no updates found. My update access is set to default and honestly for obvious reasons I’m not very excited about changing it to early or nightly…

That’s right, this setting isn’t available yet in version 2.6.20. The fix and the new setting will be added in one of the next releases.

Okay, thank you for the swift answers and thanks to the team for implementing the review control position as a setting.
