I agree. This would make the process of using the composer more familiar. Currently I’m not using the composer much because it’s a new workflow I’m not accustomed to.
Although on the second thought, I don’t know, maybe using the composer at the bottom and an additional llm in the sidebar would work better. I still need to try the composer workflow more to say for sure.
@AuspiciousSolitude - would it suit your needs to be able to drag Composer to its own screen?
I have put in a bug report about that currently not working properly here:
I think being able to have any chat, both Ctrl + L or Ctrl + I, on its own screen would help keep the Editor space ‘clutter free’.
I have found myself chatting with Chat GPT in my browser on another screen, just so I can keep the AI conversation and the code editor on separate screens.
It’s an option I’d use occasionally.
But most of the time I have something else important on my other screen e.g. documentation, or dev version of the app running
