Replace monthly quota with shorter reset periods (weekly/hourly) like Claude Code

Billing

Describe the request

Currently, when the monthly quota is exhausted, users have to wait until the end of the billing cycle to continue using Cursor. This creates a frustrating “feast or famine” usage pattern — power users burn through their quota early in the month and are left with nothing.

Proposal: Instead of a single monthly quota, introduce shorter reset periods — for example:
A weekly allocation (monthly total ÷ 4)
Or an hourly/session-based window similar to Claude Code’s ~5-hour reset model

Benefits:
Encourages more consistent, spread-out usage throughout the month
Naturally helps users self-regulate and optimize their consumption habits
Reduces the frustration of hitting a wall mid-month with weeks to go
Aligns with how other AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) already handle rate limits

This wouldn’t necessarily require giving users more quota — just distributing the same amount more evenly over time. Even a simple UI indicator showing “next reset in X hours” would improve the experience significantly.

Would love to hear if others feel the same way. :backhand_index_pointing_down:
