Hey, thanks for the report. Do you mean that when you click the language selector, even though you pick a specific language it stays on Auto? Or does the selector not open at all?
I would like to choose another language (see if there is another way to adjust it here? Specific json file?)
There’s no dropdown box popup here, and it looks like there’s some fuzzy background changes
This is always the case on macos 26

Any updates? Both of my macOS MacBooks have this issue. Or can I adjust this configuration elsewhere? After using auto, it seems to always return English.

Hey, sorry for the late reply! These settings aren’t saved anywhere, but you can specify your preferred language in the user rules in Cursor settings, and the model will follow it.
But “Generate Commit Message” will not read this. What is generated is still in English.
I come from github copilot, cursor is an awesome tool, but I’m stuck at how to set the language of “generate commit message”，
How to set/change the language of “generate commit message”?

If you select the language during installation before, the “Generate Commit Message” is in Chinese.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to set the language for generating commit messages yet.
