Since yesterday I have been unable to use Cursor due to it either failing to connect to my indexed code or because the chat is stuck in generating mode. I’ve tried several different models and nothing makes a difference.
What’s going on Cursor? This is costing me too much time and money right now. I’m about to dump Cursor and jump over to Windsurf because this is ridiculous. It’s been nearly 24 hours since I noticed this issue and I know I’m not the only one getting it and yet no word or anything from Cursor.
Y’all have a problem, you know you have a problem, and you are keeping us in the dark. Very bad form.
Can you share what you tried to resolve this? Followed troubleshooting guide and Common Solutions?
I mean a rant is not a bug report as you removed all the bug report parts from your post. People here in the forum would help you if you provide info what is happening and details that help Cursor team to check.
Yes Cursor had a temporary downtime but is working fine since and that was clearly disclosed.
Most of us have no issues using Cursor, and while some still have for various reasons most are getting help in the forum
There is nothing to show that hasn’t been shown already, all it says is “generating” and then eventually a timed out message. Agent mode was not working for me. I was able to resolve this by switching to the Ask feature and then apply the edits to each file myself. After a few rounds of that I switched back to agent and it was working.
Yes, howver in the Troubleshooting guide you can check Developer Tools and that would show you if the request is going out to the Cursor server or not, thats why i suggested the steps.
Hey, it’s also helpful to always start a new chat if you’re stuck on generation. Restarting Cursor can also be useful. In general, if you encounter any issues in the future, visit this page for solutions to common issues:
