Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

Issue: Opus 4.6 Max only shows 200K context in Cursor now, but I had 1M context available about a month ago.

What changed: After recent updates, the 1M context option appears to have disappeared. The Max model now shows only 200K.

Expected behavior: Claude Opus 4.6 Max should expose 1M context (or at least reflect current Anthropic 1M availability).

Tried:

  • Max Mode enabled
  • Restarted Cursor
  • Re-selected model

Can you confirm whether this is:

  1. a UI labeling bug,
  2. a temporary rollout/regression,
  3. a plan/account limitation,
  4. or 1M has been intentionally disabled in desktop chat/composer?

Steps to Reproduce

Even in Max mode any of the opus model isnt having 1m context window anymore

Expected Behavior

with MAX mode on , I should receive the 1m context window

Hey, this is expected behavior, I’ll explain.

There’s an important difference: the Max model like Opus 4.6 Max is a variant with stronger reasoning, while MAX mode is a separate toggle that unlocks the 1M context window. These are two different things.

The 1M context window is only available via MAX mode, which requires a paid plan (Pro/Ultra/Team/Enterprise).

If you upgrade to a paid plan and turn on MAX mode using the toggle in the chat input area, 1M context should become available.

Hey Dean,
Can you please point out which opus model currently has this 1m window
As I see none of the opus model ( any of them ) , is providing 1m context any more and I have a enterprise plan

I can see in your screenshot that you seem to be using a custom added model. Try selecting a built-in model instead. It should show up as Opus 4.6 1M High in the model picker.

If it’s not in the list, go to Cursor Settings > Models and make sure it’s enabled. Let me know if that worked.

These are the current models I have access to , Do I need to add this model ? can you provide me the correct identifier for it
