Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
Just installed the newest version after getting the pop-up for it. IDE started, ran fine for a bit, then was told the Extension Manager (or something?) crashed a few times, recommended a bisect. I didn’t bisect, reloaded the window a few times, disabled SpecStory (has given problems before), but nothing fixed it. On maybe my fourth reload, I’m now getting the “Welcome to Cursor” flow, as if I had just instaled it. I go through the setup and now permanently stuck at a “Loading…” screen. What happened?
Please do not suggest a solution that is going to fully wipe all of my user or project settings. Can’t exactly afford that.
Steps to Reproduce
Update, try to use the IDE

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known bug in versions 2.4.12 to 2.4.14. The extension host crashes and makes Cursor unusable. The team is aware.
Temporary workaround: roll back to the previous stable 2.3.x version.
Option 1 (via settings, if you can open Cursor):
Cursor Settings > Beta > switch from Early Access or Nightly back to Default
Option 2 (manual downgrade):
Download 2.3.x directly from Download · Cursor
More details and other affected users are here: Unable to access any extensions in version 2.4.12
After installing 2.3.x, everything should work again.
