Student Account for non .edu mails

I signed up with my student account which is non .edu (the account is from the Hellenic Open University and ends in @ac.eap.gr) and I could not get the discount.

Is this STRICTLY for edu accounts only?

I’ve the same issue as I am a student in Canada. In Canada our universities usually don’t use .edu..
