Why do you list all countries and use SheerID if in the end you require an american .edu?

I really don’t see the point of listing my country, making me confirm my student email and login with the Shibboleth through SheerID if it’s to in the end say only .edu (aka american) emails are allowed.

Just say it’s US-only from the get-go and save us the time.
