I have enabled the new setting “Submit with ⌘ + Enter”. When I try to submit with ⌘ + enter it switches to Plan mode instead of submitting the message. This happens only with the first message in a conversation - submitting all subsequent messages works as expected.
I open the chat with Cmd+I (not L) but this doesn’ t matter. See the screen recording - in this recording i press Cmd+I, Cmd+V, Cmd+Enter. Disabling all extensions doesn’t help. Happens in all projects. Attached screenshot of my keybindings as well - I’ve never changed anything there
I’m seeing the same for most new chats, but not all. Most of the time the first cmd+enter will switch to planning mode, but sometimes it just dismisses the hint about switching to planning mode by pressing “tab”, but it still won’t submit my instructions (unless I press cmd+enter a second time).
Also having this problem. It would be amazing if we could disable the annoying prompt as every time i open a new chat and type in and hit ctrl/cmd+enter it changes to plan mode…. happens on both mac and windows.
Yes, this bug is disappointing for users who want to use the new Cmd+Enter feature - it’s borderline unusable since it happens on every prompt that could trigger the plan mode (aka almost any prompt > 1 sentence).
More features are also being added which use the Cmd + Enter shortcut, like the popup hint to install a plugin when a keyword like Atlassian is mentioned. These are also broken when the “Use Plan Mode” or “Use Debug Mode” popups appear.
Same for me. The “try plan mode” thing doesn’t always show up; when it does, sometimes the first CMD+Enter will simply dismiss it, and other times it enables plan mode. Really bizarre.
Also noticed that sometimes even when the “try plan mode” thing isn’t there I have to hit CMD+Enter twice rapidly to send a message. Again this is very random.
I really wish Cursor would stop trying to shove Plan mode down my throat, especially because I have used Plan mode many times already. It’s a great mode but sometimes I don’t want it, and I don’t need to be constantly reminded it exists!
