Suspicious Activity Block

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Starting around 10:00 AM MST on November 29, all AI requests in Cursor stopped working on my Pro Trial account. Any prompt I send (even just “test”) returns: “Unauthorized request. Your request has been blocked as our system has detected suspicious activity from your account.” This happens in Chat, Composer, and other AI features, so all AI is effectively blocked.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Cursor on my Windows 11 desktop.
  2. Open any project and start a new chat.
  3. Send a simple prompt like test using any model (Composer-1, GPT, etc.).
  4. The request fails with the “Unauthorized request / suspicious activity” error every time.

Expected Behavior

AI features (Chat, Composer, inline edits) should respond normally to prompts, as they did before on the same machine and network, without blocking the account for “suspicious activity.”

Composer-1 when the issue first appeared. After that, the same error happens with any model I select (Composer, GPT, Claude, etc.).

@danperks

I’ve read through each of those posts already – most of what I see is a lot of other users reporting the same suspicious activity block, no actual solution.

Hey, thanks for the report. It looks like an issue with AI requests being blocked due to “suspicious activity” on Pro Trial.

It might be related to limits or context - try this:

  • Log out and log back in
  • Create a new chat in Cursor
  • Disable context, close all file tabs and MCP servers (disable all if you have them)
  • Open another project and test there

Also email [email protected] with your ID and a screenshot. Let them know what happened after the checks.

Thanks for the reply.

I went through all the steps you listed and still get the same “Unauthorized request / suspicious activity” error on every request, even for a simple test message in a brand new chat.

I already emailed [email protected] with the Request ID, logs, and screenshots.
