Switching to another model always toggle on the MAX mode

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

When I switch model from Composer to any other model (Grok or Sonnet) it automatically switch me to Max mode. If I toggle off the Max mode, it looks ok, but if I switch back to Composer and then back again to another model is takes me again to the Max mode.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Select Composer model
  2. Switch to Grok 4.5 → Max mode is on.
  3. Toggle off the Max mode.
  4. Switch back to Composer.
  5. Switch to Grok 4.5 → Max mode is active again.

Expected Behavior

If I changed the model configuration I expect it to remember my choice.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey there! On legacy request-based Team/Enterprise plans, picking frontier models like Grok or Sonnet turns Max Mode on automatically - there isn’t a non-Max option for those models on that plan. Composer stays usable without Max (details, Max Mode).

If your workspace is already on usage-based pricing, fully quit with Cmd+Q, reopen, and try again - that force-on shouldn’t apply. If it still flips every time, send a screenshot of the model picker.

It was related to migration from legacy request-based team/enterprise plans to token-based plan. Some migration issues. Seems like now everything works as expected.
