Tab Completions not being logged in the dashboard?

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

The widget for AI Line Edits and Tab Completions has been showing 0 tab completions for the last couple of months. I remember a few months ago being able to see how many times I accepted a tab completion.

Not a very critical issue, specially as I have been slowly embracing delegating whole tickets and features to agents and just code reviewing the output, but still in a world where every action is being counted and people gamify any number they see in a screen, I was expecting either the widget to work or to be acknowledged as deprecated.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Write some code in the Editor window and use the Cursor tab feature a few times.
  2. Probably wait a few minutes to let data get conciliated, or maybe a day, I don’t know how this widget works.
  3. Visit cursor.com/dashboard, and in the AI Lines section click Tab to see Tab statistics.

Expected Behavior

Data, green squares, or an alert box confirming the status of this widget.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the detailed report with the screenshot and version. I can see the empty heatmap and Tab Completions = 0 in the AI Lines widget.

This is a known display bug on the dashboard. It only affects how the widget renders the final number and the cell colors for the Tab filter. Your Tab completions are still being recorded on our side, and the metric isn’t deprecated. You can verify this indirectly by hovering a heatmap cell. The tooltip shows the real number like N Tabs even when the big number on top shows 0.

I’ve reported it internally as a display bug. I can’t share an ETA yet, but I’ll post an update in this thread when I have one. The same issue was discussed here: The "Tab Completions" metric in the dashboard are consistently zero

Wow, it is completely true! I didn’t considered hovering over the squares but I confirm I see the numbers in the popups. Now I can challenge my metrics in peace again

Sorry for duplicating the bug report. I found in the search engine a similar topic from 2025 but not that recent topic so I did not see the answer.

Glad it worked. No worries about the duplicate, that thread was genuinely hard to find, so it’s all good.

Just to be clear, your Tab completions have been recorded correctly this whole time. The bug is only in how the widget renders the final number and the cell colors for the Tab filter. I’ve reported the issue internally, I can’t share an ETA for a fix yet, but I’ll post an update here as soon as I have one. In the meantime, you can safely compare metrics via the tooltip.
