Team Rules Won't Persist

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

As an admin, when attempting to create team rules the rules won’t persist.

Currently on the Team license.

Steps to Reproduce

In a browser, go to the Cursor Dashboard, navigate to Team Rules. Create a new rule and ensure it’s enabled before confirming. The browser notification states the rule was saved, however even after a page refresh, the rule is not visible.

Expected Behavior

I expect the rule to persist and therefore be available for our Team.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a known issue where team rules don’t persist in the dashboard.

Please:

  • Open your browser DevTools (F12 or right‑click → Inspect)
  • Go to the Console tab
  • Try creating a team rule again
  • Share any error messages that appear in the console

Also, do the rules appear in Cursor Desktop IDE for you or your teammates? (Settings → Rules)

This will help us debug and escalate to the team.

Recreated the rule with Dev Tools enabled. I didn’t see any movement in the console when creating the rule. Here’s the output. The rules do not appear on the IDE for me or my team. Only my project rules are visible in the IDE.

Thanks for the info, that’s very helpful.
