Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, I’m not a Windows user, so I’m not sure how updates work there. On macOS, downloading the latest installer overwrites the existing app and the new version takes effect. Could you try the same on Windows and let me know what happens?

Hey, thanks for the report. Being stuck on version 1.5.11 since September is definitely a problem. The current version is 2.0.

Please help us troubleshoot:

  • Download the latest installer from Download · Cursor and try running it. What exact error message do you get?
  • Check your antivirus/Windows Defender: it might be blocking the installer. Try adding Cursor to exclusions or temporarily disabling it during installation.
  • Run the installer as Administrator: right-click the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator.”

Let us know what happens at each step and any error messages you see. That will help us identify the exact issue.
