Does this stop you from using Cursor?

Hey @730, thanks for the report, and sorry about the interruptions.

I looked at the Request ID you shared. Your connection and setup are fine, so new agents, disabling MCP, restarting and updating would not change anything. The Grok 4.6 model’s provider is rejecting the request for that particular conversation. Once a chat trips it, every retry in that same chat fails the same way, which is why it looks like it has been down all day. We are tracking this and I have added your report.

To keep moving right now:

  1. Start a new chat for the task (the failure sticks to the conversation, not to your account).
  2. If the new chat fails again within a few messages, switch that task to Composer 2.5 or another non-Grok model. Those went through without issue for you today.

If you have a few minutes, this check would help us pin down what triggers it for you, since it hits you much more often than most people:

  1. Restart Cursor and open the same project you were working in.
  2. Open a new chat and select Cursor Grok 4.6 Extra High Fast in the model picker.
  3. Send: “Without reading any files, tell me what you can see about this project from its name alone.”
  4. In the same chat, send: “Now read the README and the main entry file and summarize them.”
  5. Open a new, empty folder in a fresh Cursor window, open a new chat with the same model, and send “hello”.
  6. Reply here with which step (if any) showed the error, plus the Request ID for that message (three-dot menu on the message, Copy Request ID).

If step 4 fails but step 5 works, the trigger is something in the project the agent pulls into the chat, and we can narrow it down from there.

hey! thanks for the quick response.

None of the replication steps triggered the issue, each worked as expected. While there is no three-dot icon on my message or the response i got, thus leaving me unable to give you the Request ID, i’ll give you the two Agent ID’s instead.
