You can try v1.4.4 which has some improvement for Windows and Linux performance.
Try Cursor Settings > Beta > Update Access: Early Access
i’m using windows. i’ll try the beta version to see if it could fix the problem.

I am on macOS and I noticed lag when typing, like a drop in framerate / increase in latency when typing characters directly, maybe because of increase tab-completion speed (just a guess)? Never noticed any typing latency before so this is a new development

No it is very annoying. Sometimes a 3 second delay on typing a word in the chat. Quit unacceptable
