Upgrading to Cursor Pro Plus Was a Huge Disappointment

I’ve been a Cursor user for a while and really like the product, which is why I’m posting this.

I was previously on the Pro plan ($20/month). On that plan, I regularly received around $25–$30 worth of extra/free usage from Cursor, which made the plan feel fair and valuable.

Because I was hitting the limits to fast lately, I decided to upgrade to Pro Plus ($60/month), expecting significantly better value and more flexibility.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

After upgrading:

  • I paid 3× more

  • I no longer receive any free/bonus usage

  • My total usable value is only slightly higher than before

In practice, I’m now paying $60 to get just a bit more than what I used to get for $20 + free credits. That makes no sense from a pricing perspective.

If this is a bug, then it should be fixed. If it’s intentional, then honestly, it feels misleading.

I upgraded because I needed more usage — not to lose benefits and barely gain anything in return.

Right now, I don’t see any good reason to choose Pro Plus:

  • The value increase is minimal

  • The price jump is massive

  • The “free usage” is gone — instead, you only get a fixed $70 in premium requests from the start (with autocomplete billed separately). I upgraded expecting additional free or bonus usage like before, and planned my work around that, so this was really disappointing.

I like Cursor and want to keep using it, but at this pricing, it’s becoming hard to justify. There are plenty of strong alternatives in this space that offer better value.

I really hope the team reconsiders this structure, because as it stands, Pro Plus is not worth it at all.

Agreed. I def did not use 3x more from the Pro → Pro plus

I was about to do the same. Not sure anymore if worth it after your post.
Something change in the Dashboard as well. Auto mode and Named API are now charged separately?
I’m with Pro Plan, it means that we have $20 for API plus $20 with Auto?
