If I hit the Usage limit, it gives me an options either enable usage price based or Auto Mode. But the question is if I choose Auto mode. I cant use the grok model? Does the cursor have a reset usage limit? Just like how the Claude code works
If you hit the usage limit, it usually takes 5 to 24 hours for a small amount of it to reset. When you are using the ‘auto’, you will be switched to the default model, which is typically GPT-4.1. Good luck with it, though.

No more rate limits rests, they’ve changed the policy again. Once you hit the limit, you have to wait for it to reset or switch to AUTO (ChatGPT 3.5).

I think yes. I used Grok-4 in 4–5 prompts and hit a rate limit (I believe it’s a local rate limit?). They seem to reset the burst rate limit(old doc but same function 
) on the first day of each billing cycle. The Auto mode is terrible. So 500 → 225 requests(NOT EVEN 225, dont use claude-4).
They changed the policies because the original ones weren’t properly designed. Originally, you were supposed to get 50% of the initial request quota each month. And instead of slowing down requests after reaching the limit, they now apply a local rate limit and calculate usage based on tokens.
This is what I read.
