When I change the model target (eg from 01preview to gpt-4o) in one window, it changes in all open windows. This did not used to happen. If it’s a feature, it is not ideal.
Some additional info - I do have multiple windows open, some of them are connected via SSH. There are other unexpected behaviors with SSH sessions that I will report separately, but I will mention it here.
+1
I’ll try to record a video.
Thanks, a video would be helpful. Also, let me know what version of Cursor you have.
This issue persists. It is pretty bad; costing time and money.
It is very difficult to capture a video of this behavior.
It does seem to happen even when I am working in a single window, but its difficult to tell as I always have multiple Cursor windows open.

Thanks for looking in to it!
i actually managed to get a video of it happening. Will DM
Other times, I will initiate a request to o1 preview, and it thinks for a long while, then stops, switches the model, and starts over.
This is still happening FYI. It’s pretty disruptive.
Have you tried reinstalling Cursor? Take a look at this guide.
This happened to me again today on 0.42.3. I used command+/ to change models. It seems to happen once but then not again.
I find it hard to read the model number in the submit interface. Is there a way to customize it’s color so it’s more legible? If not, I’d vote for the Cursor team considering making it more legible in the software to help avoid missing this error.
