When I try to upgrade Cursor I get "There was an error while renaming 'tools'": Access denied

When I try to upgrade Cursor I get this error since 2-3 versions back:
“There was an error while renaming ‘tools’”: Access denied

And no Cursor is not running. Only inno_updater.exe , Setup/Uninstall (32bit) and Cursor Setup (32bit).
I had to download Cursor every time by hand and install it for the last few versions.
And of course the auto update was working before.
Regards.

Same issue here. I was running 0.45.17 x64 on win11 and got an update notification in the app. Ran into this error.

Hey, try downloading the latest version of Cursor here:

Same problem here, yesterday and today. “There was an error while renaming ‘tools’”: Access denied. downloading 46 now from link, but… why so slow (200KBs) ?

After automatical trying to update, my Cursor also stopped running (Windows 11 Home 24H2, x64). After manually uninstalling previous version, downloading and installing the latest version, everything seems to work fine.
