Why is the latest version of the Cursor client no longer displaying the context window usage?
Without this, I don’t know when I should switch to a new conversation.
Hey, what Cursor version are you on? Check Help > About or Cursor Settings > General.
There was a recent UI bug where the context usage meter got hidden behind the prompt input area. This was fixed in a recent update. Please make sure you’re on the latest version via Help > Check for Updates, and the meter should show up again.
If it’s still missing after updating, send a screenshot of your chat panel and I’ll take a look.
Thanks for the screenshot. The context window indicator was moved in the new UI. You can now see it when you hover over the chat title. The tooltip shows the model, the folder path, and the context window usage percentage.
