If you are having trouble with the length of content as an input; save the content into a file then reference the file as context for your instructions. Then simply conjure a prompt that tells your model to do ( i.e, ‘this.Conext’ ). You could always upload the document onto a web server and then reference the filel as context @ or sync the context into the local reference.

Is there an Update on this? I was told that it was scheduled to be fixed on Monday, but it is already Wednesday.

I have been working on @CurrentTask in .cursorrules to keep Agent updated all the time and have him update his notes on progress, but the rules are sometimes followed and sometimes not, so when I get this Conversation message… When this Conversation message comes in, the previous context is lost and it is difficult to control.

SpecStory did not work with v0.44.8.
When I run the Save command, nothing happens and Cursor gives me a notification that

Failed to read composer data from global storage: Error: database disk image is malformed.

I have registered this in Issues in SpecStory.

What’s the update concerning the “Conversation too long” issue? I’m running v0.44.8 and just got this prompt, meaning it has not been fixed. There’s nothing wrong opening new Composer windows as long as the historical context is carried along. I find it so disheartening when opening a new Composer window and had to start all over again with instructions. This is so counterproductive because I’m running a complex project and could take me about 7mins before getting the new Composer up to speed with the current state of development.

I recently pushed a fix (a few minutes ago) which might solve this. Could you try again?

After restarting, I’m still seeing the “Conversation too long” prompt in my previous Composer window. Is there any other way to check if the issue has been fixed?

I’m in a Winddows environment and I’m still on v0.44.8. are you Push only for Mac? Or is the version notification the same but with different content? Or is there a different way to download?

restarting anything is not going to fix ‘conversation is too long’

This simply means that the developers have set a maximum length on the conversation and you can not append any more text to the conversation.

EVERYONE, THIS ISSUE IS FIXED!!! look for a + button on the right upper corner, parallel to the composer. click that and you can start a new chat.

the developer said he pushed a fix. so you must restart your cursor for you to experience the fix.

Are you able to pull? What version are you running? I am still can’t updated from 0.44.8.I can’t find 0.44.9 ? or later.
My environment is WIndows.
