I am on the 1.8.0-pre.1.patch.0 version, and I found in the setting → Beta → Agent Autocomplete, I turned it on, and found there is no autocompletion while typing something in the agent prompt window.
Anyone noticed this feature?

hi @sizhang @lmb @liquefy thank you for all the details. As Dean mentioned the team is looking into it.
For daily Cursor usage I recommend Stable/Default or if you prefer Early Access because Nightly may break frequently and features may change as we are testing things there. It is also not indicative of which features will make it into the release.
In case you do use Nightly we appreciate the bug reports, kindly add the word nightly to the thread as we didn’t yet tag 1.8 properly and would like to avoid confusing other Forum users.
SSH remote connection is also not working. Maybe a revert version to previous installed cursor would be nice for us who are testing the nightly build
FYI Git, Agent, Tab, Extensions, etc still broken in 1.8.0-pre.3.patch.0 (released a few mins ago)
In a recent nightly update, there was a problem with the extension host. That means you may have had no extensions start. Most of VSCode/Cursor is built in extensions, including language support like Python and TypeScript (you can see this by typing “@builtin” into the extension search bar)
If this was your issue, in the most recent nightly version, this has been fixed
This thread is about a different issue though, no? It’s just about the “Agent Autocomplete” which works for me. However, it doesn’t often display suggestions. But sometimes it does! It doesn’t seem broken, just needs to be more aggressive with suggestions
I’m sure they’ll tweak it
yes nightly version 5 has fixed the problem. i just cant wait until the multiple generation per prompt is pushed (git worktrees)
For people who can’t install nightly (entreprise account) and are completely blocked, cursor unsuable, what’s the solution ?
