When the AI Chat window is dragged to a second screen, it becomes impossible to input any content.

Same problem here, on MacOS. Dragging the AI chat outside the main window results in no key strokes being accepted in the input field. Once it’s attached to the side panel again it works as excepted.

Very annoying because I have a portrait format monitor for coding and being able to have AI chat on a separate screen would be a huge improvement in quality of life

same issue on windows pc

same issue here, it would be really nice to have this fixed since i would have the assistant be in its own display window rather than taking up space in the ide

Same here, I’d really like this to be solved so that dual monitors becomes more useful.

Hey, this works in the latest version of Cursor.

Which version are you using? I still have the issue with:

Version: 0.49.6 (user setup)
VSCode Version: 1.96.2
Commit: 0781e811de386a0c5bcb07ceb259df8ff8246a50
Date: 2025-04-25T04:49:20.797Z
Electron: 34.3.4
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210
Node.js: 20.18.3
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0
OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.26100

I must say that I am using Cursor via WSL (I have a feeling that may be a clue).
It’s very annoying because I bought a second screen specifically for that

Hey, I currently have version 0.49.6. You can open the chat window and restart Cursor, then it should work again.
