Authentication error, try logging in

I am getting this error again and again I have tried logging out and in and even reinstalled the grok bot but still getting this error. Can anyone help?

Hey @Channels_Cintara. I can see the screenshot with the banner: “Authentication error / If you are logged in, try logging out and back in”.

Your session is fine. There’s nothing else you need to do on the login side, and reinstalling won’t help. Signing out and back in won’t fix this one. This isn’t caused by your setup. The message is showing up because of a recent change on our side that’s preventing some Grok Bot computers from reaching the model. I’ve already flagged it to the team and we’re tracking it.

If you don’t want to wait for the fix, you can update Grok Bot’s Computer to a newer build that isn’t affected:

  • Open Grok Bot.
  • Go to Settings, then Grok Bot’s Computer.
  • Click Update and wait for it to finish. Your bots and files will stay in place.
  • Send a test message to the bot.

If Update doesn’t work, or if the error is still there after step 4, reply here and I’ll reset your Grok Bot machine from my side. I’ll keep your bots and data. I’ll also update the thread as soon as we have news on the fix.

Same banner: “Authentication error / If you are logged in, try logging out and back in.”

Happens on my bot Chief of Staff. App shows me signed in.

Already tried logout/login, cache clear, reinstall, and Settings → Grok Bot’s Computer → Update. Still failing.

Please reset my Grok Bot machine from your side and keep bots/data.

@Gustavo_Lage:

Hey, thanks for the details and the Request ID. Your account and sign-in are fine, so logging out and back in or reinstalling wouldn’t have changed anything. This isn’t an issue with your setup. The banner was coming from the computer running your bot. It was on an older build that stopped being able to reach the model after a recent change on our side.

Good news: your Grok Bot computer automatically pulled the new build early this morning at around 01:36 UTC on September 11, so everything should work now. Can you send a test message to the Chief of Staff bot and let me know how it goes?

If the banner is still there, reply here and I’ll pass it to the team. Your bots and data will stay in place either way.

@Otavio_Cavalcante:

Hey, thanks for the Request ID. From what I can see, the reset of your Grok Bot computer that you ran a couple minutes after your post fixed the issue. Messages have been going through since then.

If the banner comes back, reply here with a fresh Request ID and I’ll take another look.

Thank you, all worked out well
