Every time I switch off my laptop, turn back on again and start Cursor, I see the Auto mode on the chat, I used to have it saved per chat type, but now apparently Cursor is forcing the auto mode, which is being a terrible experience, often I get inconsistent results on the Auto mode.
I still trust myself more than the AI to pick a model.
While I understand the value of not bothering about the model for a smoother experience, this may not suit all users and should be optional.
Most of the models are unreliable and for me unusable. I think the system reverting is probably not a bug, but an internal optimization because some of the models are much cheaper. But, it makes for an unusable development experience. We need the ability to select a smart, useful model, and just use that. This is the truly simple solution, not auto. Unless auto will pick only from my enabled models, and I can disable all but the one(s) I trust most?
