Hey, thanks for the report.

To help us figure out what’s going on, could you share a bit more info:

  • Which exact window is opening and closing? (terminal, panel, popup, or something else)
  • A screenshot or a short video showing the issue
  • Check the Developer Tools console (Help > Toggle Developer Tools). Do you see any red errors there?
  • Try launching Cursor with extensions disabled from the command line: cursor --disable-extensions. Does the issue still happen?

Also try this:

  • Restart Cursor as administrator
  • Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall
  • Check if Cursor is conflicting with any other apps that are running

Let me know what you find!

When working on Windows 11, a window that looks like a command line / console keeps opening and immediately closing.
Because it appears and disappears constantly, it steals the focus from the active application, making it extremely hard to work.

The window closes too fast to read its content, so I can’t identify what process is triggering it.

Impact:

  • Continuous loss of focus

  • Interrupts typing and navigation

  • Makes normal work almost impossible

Priority:
This issue should be treated as high priority, as it severely affects productivity and usability.

My issue was reported here: Intermittent 1-Second Windows Command Prompt Popups While Using Cursor
Is dupliated.
You could close this and folow the other ticket.

Any news about the fix?
This issue is seriously impacting my performance, and without a clear resolution timeline, I’m starting to consider switching to another tool.

I am also having the same issue. It impacts everything, even while writing this, popup steals focus and my writing is interrupted. win11 pro user
