Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. It looks like there might be some issues with your internet connection. It could be temporary. If you’re using a VPN, try turning it off. Let me know if the issue doesn’t resolve after some time.

Same here.

Updated Cursor last night, now in the morning this happens.
My internet is fine, no VPN, I’m sure OP’s internet and VPN is fine too.

I just changed the internet connection and it worked @deanrie , I’m not sure why it is not working on my other connection anymore that is weird although it have been working for months now. I will anyways check and update in this thread in case I found the reason.

Still having issues since last update. When running Network Diagnostics the output was exactly the same as what OP posted. But I am now getting this:

Unable to chat with Agent. Unable to use Cursor.

Also, why are we not allowed to copy the Network Diagnostics results? Very annoying that I can’t even drag my cursor across the results to copy paste into another AI outside of Cursor.

@deanrie :index_pointing_up:

Please check these steps, you might see something familiar:

  1. Are you using a corporate network? If yes, does your company have a proxy server for inspecting HTTPS traffic?

  2. Is the Sectigo certificate mentioned in the error familiar to you? This could be a corporate certificate or a certificate from your antivirus.

  3. What antivirus/firewall are you using? Some antivirus programs (like Kaspersky, for example) can intercept SSL traffic.

  4. Although you don’t use a VPN, do you have any network monitoring or parental control software installed?

  5. Can you check in your computer’s security settings if any additional root certificates are installed?

  6. Try connecting through mobile internet - this will help determine if the problem is related to your primary network.

  1. No
  2. No
  3. Not using an antivirus. Just a default out-of-the-box MacBook Air M2 15.3.2
  4. No
  5. Not sure
  6. Chat is currently working now, but this has happened before. It will work for a bit then stop responding.

@deanrie my Cursor Agent’s chat still keeps going out and not working. This experience is really bad at the moment. I can’t work consistently. Something changed with the last release because this never used to happen.

If you rollback to the previous version, will it work for you?

I haven’t tried that. I have realized that when I switch between mobile hotspot and home wifi it will sometimes work. Then when it doesn’t work again, if I switch again, it might work again. I’m thinking about just re-installing this is crazy

Thanks for the detailed update.

Since the issue started after updating to v1.7.33 and temporarily goes away when you switch networks, please check the following on your Mac:

  • Any security or privacy software that could intercept HTTPS traffic, including built-in macOS features

You can also try:

  • Adding Google’s or Cloudflare’s DNS in your network settings: 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1. Several users reported this resolved the issue

If this doesn’t help or the issue persists, please let me know.
