Cursor Student program

My country, Romania, is listed as an eligible country for the Cursor Student program:

Due to our verification process, this promotion is only available for verified students at universities in the following countries: Australia, Austria, … Romania, … United States.

My university—the Polytechnic University of Timișoara—also appears in the list of valid institutions during validation. However, I’m unable to sign up because my student email, which ends in @student.upt.ro, does not use the .edu TLD.

Please advise on how I can complete verification with my @student.upt.ro address or what alternative proof I can provide.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello everyone,

I’m running into the same issue that many others seem to be facing with the student discount application.

I applied with my official university-issued email address, which ends in “.ac.jp” (the standard academic domain in Japan), but I received a reply from a support assistant telling me to apply with a “.edu” address.

This is happening despite Japan being clearly listed as an eligible country on the FAQ page. It feels a bit disappointing, as if the support team assumes every university in the world is under the US system and uses a “.edu” domain.

If anyone has faced this same problem and managed to resolve it, I would appreciate it if you could share how you did it.

Thanks.
